How your files are handled
What leaves your browser, where it is stored, and when anything is sent to an AI model.
- What leaves your browser
Files: only the drawings you upload. Images are converted to PDF in your browser first. Your measurements, names and settings are saved to LineTakeoff as you work.
- Where it is stored
In LineTakeoff’s private cloud storage in Tel Aviv, Israel (Google Cloud me-west1). Files are never public and there are no shared links: every download goes through a signed-in access check.
- Who can open your drawings
Your account only. The administrator manages accounts, limits and usage, but the application has no screen that opens your drawings or measurements for anyone else. As with any hosted service, the operator of the cloud infrastructure has technical access to stored data.
- When content is sent to an AI model
Only when you run the assistant, and only if the administrator has enabled and configured it. The model then receives: your question; the project name; sheet titles and page numbers; each sheet’s scale and whether it is confirmed; schedule lines (code, name, waste allowance and multiplier); and each measurement’s name, category, material code and review status, and the quantities the engine computed. File names, page images and text from the drawing pages aren’t sent in this version. If a file name contains a standard scale such as 1:50, only that scale is passed on. The model service may process this content outside the region where your files are stored.
- How long it is kept
- Drawings: kept until you delete them or their project.
- Unfinished upload fragments: deleted within 2 days.
- Export files: available for 30 days, then deleted.
- Assistant run records: deleted after 30 days.
- Deleted projects: permanently removed 30 days after deletion.
- Deleted files can remain in the storage service’s 7-day recovery window before they’re gone.
- What revoking access can and can’t do
Suspending an account, revoking an export or signing out stops future downloads immediately. It can’t recall copies that were already downloaded or saved on a device.
